Hello Reader,
Today's email is very practical in nature, I want to to share the steps you can take when you're offer isn't making the sales you were hoping for.
Picture the scene - you've mapped out your offer, it's all set up ready to deliver to people and you've been actively promoting it, but... crickets.
The first thing I want to say is that this has nothing to do with who you are as a person and you don't suck at business. While you might feel like running and hiding under your duvet (and that is definitely an option available to you) I'd suggest looking at these 3 categories so you can work out your next steps to get those sales coming in:
- Your offer structure
Have you matched the offer to real customer needs? Lots of times I see people create offers based on what they saw someone else launch and that's a fast track to a false start. Everything in your offer should be intentionally designed to move people from where they are to where they want to be.
People don't want tools, lessons or coaching - they want the result they get from engaging with those things. So the first step is to review your offer and and make sure you can connect each element in terms of what happens, what they get and why it matters to the problem your customer is trying to solve. That clarity will underpin the next step.

2. Your marketing message
Now you can take a fresh look at your marketing for the offer. A common mistake is to focus your marketing message on what someone gets instead of the results those things will create for the customer - that's why we refine the offer first! So check your marketing to see if you list out lots of stuff they'll get, for example, trainings, email support, workbooks, journals, etc but forget to talk about the results these things will get them.
Avoid broad statements like "you'll improve your business" or "you'll be happier". The more specifically you can speak to someone's problem and goal, the more likely you are to move them from, "that sounds good" to "that's exactly what I need!".

3. Your audience size
If you're confident you've already nailed the first 2 steps, it may be a simple case of not getting enough eyeballs on your offer. Not everyone who checks out an offer goes on to buy (it's typically a small fraction that do, depending on how they discovered it!) so this step is about getting in front of more people and repeating your efforts regularly as not everyone in your world sees everything you share.
You don't need a huge audience, you just need a relevant audience - that's why if you're launching a new service one of the quickest routes to sales can reaching out to people in your network with something like, "hey, I've just launched X, it's for people who Y, I'd love it if you could share it with anyone you know who is currently looking to [solve this specific problem]".
Things like email lists, social media or networking events are great ways to show up in front of your audience regularly so they get a better understanding of who you are and what you do.
